My apologies to Linda for the misprint in the previous issue of the newsletter, but her contact info is now correct. Our former secretary, Elizabeth Kern, had to resign because of serious family issues, and we thank her for the work she did so well. We wish her family well and hope her issues are resolved in the near future. Thank you Linda for stepping up and assuming the work of recording secretary. Biography Christian Quintin I was born in the town of Saint Brieuc, on the northern coast of Brittany, France. I studied at the Beaux Arts Academy in Paris before moving to San Francisco in 1981. I create oils and pastel paintings as well as pen and ink and graphite drawings, alternating between mediums; as in music each piece calls for its own instrument. My art addresses consciousness, what I see or feel, and has been exhibited in many solo and international group shows. I was represented by the famed Vorpal Gallery in San Francisco and New York, which gave its first U.S. show to M.C. Escher. I was also the recipient of numerous public commissions and was represented by the Lorin Gallery in Los Angeles and Paris. _____ Artshare Our monthly Artshare meeting will be at 1 pm on May 19th in the Art Room in the CAC. Bring your work to share, or just come and view what other people have been doing while the rain was falling outside! _____ Figure Drawing We have started a two hour figure drawing group using clothed and unclothed models, using a projector. Come to the next meeting May 7th at 3 pm in the Birch Room at the CAC. All you need is a pencil and a sketch pad!
